Terms of Service

By using WakaruAI ("the Service") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The service

WakaruAI is a Japanese-learning platform (kanji, vocabulary, grammar, and an AI tutor) built around a spaced-repetition system.

2. Minimum age

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are a minor in your country, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account and password confidential, and for all activity under your account. Each account is for use by a single person.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Levels 1–10 are free forever. Access to higher levels requires a paid subscription, processed by Lemon Squeezy as our authorized reseller (merchant of record). Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from the billing portal.

5. Acceptable use

You may not: use the Service for unlawful purposes; post defamatory, discriminatory, or obscene content on the community forum; harass other users; use bots or automated scripts to access the Service or bulk-scrape content; attempt unauthorized access to other accounts or site infrastructure; or resell access to the Service.

6. Community content

If you post on the community forum, you keep ownership of your content, but you grant us permission to display and store it as part of the Service. We may remove content that violates these terms at our discretion.

7. Intellectual property

WakaruAI's code, design, and brand belong to us. Educational content (kanji, vocabulary, examples) is largely sourced from open datasets (KANJIDIC2, JMdict, Tatoeba) under their respective licenses.

8. Cancellation and account deletion

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal — you keep access until the end of the period already paid for. To delete your account and data, email us at wakaruai@gmail.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

9. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the Service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes (e.g. to pricing) will be announced at least 30 days in advance by email or in-app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Argentina.
